The 2-nd tournament for the international rating, that was held in Netanya chess club
September - November 2002, was a little bit crumpled by the unexpected "desertion"
of R.Ryavenky. This chess player, accepted into the tournament under the recommendation
of one of dear players, has left from tournament, having played only three games
and by that has reduced to round a distance of competition.
However, even this incident could not spoil the celebratory atmosphere
reigned in a tournament hall during all competition.
The main event of tournament became, certainly, participation in it
of our former clubmate, and nowadays the player of the top league
in "Maccabi Afek" team, international master D.Kudishevich.
He has won first place in tournament, though with a small separation from competitors.
The 2-nd place was shared by 4(!) chess players at once - all of them
were satisfied with result 2, without losses. Only excessive care
in interstine meetings has not allowed them to struggle for leadership with the winner.
There was no luck for one of winners of the first tournament, Z.Izrailov, this time.
Trying overplay the fortune, he has lost two games, having evaded in them
from a drawn track. It is necessary to regard the result of Y.Volkov
as unsuccessful too, he has played below of his opportunities.
On the other hand, O.Zror's playing deserves all praises - with his
uncompromising style (only one drawn game!!) he has spoilt a lot of blood
to the more skilled contenders. Not without justification it is possible to assume,
that in near future Oren becomes one of the strongest players of club.
D.Afgin has closed the tournament table. Unfortunately, for him
this tournament appeared too hard, but, nevertheless, two halves which he
"has stolen" from I.Shlakman and A.Hasidovsky, have deprived
them a sharing of the first place.
