Israel Chess Championship 1/8 final 2007-2008

You are invited to participate in Israel Chess Championship 1/8 final 2007-2008. The tournament is predesignated for chess players with rating up to 1900.

Event Location:

The Netanya Chess Club, Merkaz David, Chernyahovsky 12, Netanya.

System:

The tournament will be organized in swiss system, 9 rounds. One of each five participants will get promotion to the 1/4 stage.

Schedule:

Due to the holidays schedule will be:
round 1: thursday 6th of September,
round 2: thursday 20th of September,
round 3: thursday 11th of Oktober,
and each next thursday, 18:00.

Timing:

Two hours for the whole game to each player.

Price:

100 sheqalim. Every player has to have valid "member book" (pinkas mithare) for 2007, full or partial. Holders of partial books will pay special fee.

Prizes:

Cups for winners. Chess sets etc.

• 1/16 stage will not be held.
• thus, 1/8 stage will be the first stage and will be held in clubs. Players with ratings up to 1900 and valid member books may participate. One of each five participants will get promotion to the 1/4 stage. The tournament must start as soon as possible and complete until November 2007.
• ¼ stage, the second stage, will be held in clubs. Players with ratings 1900-2300 (israeli or fide), and promoters from 1/8 stage, with valid member books may participate. This stage will be held in January-May 2008.

The timing in these two stages:

• 1/8 stage - two hours or 90 minutes + 30 seconds.
• ¼ stage - 90 minutes + 30 seconds.

Schedule and location of 1/2 final and final will be declared later.
